This is the oldest musical educational institution of Ukraine founded in 1913. During the years of its existence more than 8 thousand prominent musicians and music performers among them such as: E. Gilels, B. Rudenko, D. Oystrakh, K. Dankevich, E. Chavdar, Y. Zak, N. Ogreniz and many others graduated from the Odessa conservatoire.
Since 1956 musicians from 28 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and America have been trained at the Odessa conservatory (the former name of the Odessa State A.V. Nezhdanova).
The musical academy is the member of Association European of musical academies and conservatories
